Intro to ISO 55000 Education and Training

Descrição

Descrição:

This course gives students an overview of individual training and certification in the ISO 55000 standards. It features presentations from Andrew James Advisory Group principals Lindsay Ziegler and Richard Uytdewilligen, and features an interview with Jim Dieter of the Asset Leadership Network. We begin with Lindsay Ziegler explaining what is involved in training, and why it’s important in today’s marketplace. This information can help organizational executives determine whether ISO 55000 is something that might be useful in their context. We then present the student with a brief preview of the online course lecture format, including a portion of the actual course material. Finally, we present the student with excerpts from one of the Asset Leadership Network’s Thurs@4 video conference series. These recordings are excerpted from an interview between Richard Uytdewilligen, representing AJAG, and Jim Dieter, representing the ALN. The first recording discusses when and how the A55K exam and the associated course materials were first conceived and developed, including the concept of a “Chinese wall” which ensures that the emphasis of AJAG’s course is teaching the standard rather than teaching to the exam. Mr. Uytdewilligen points out that it’s not unusual for software vendors to ask whether their Enterprise Asset Management system can be certified (the answer is no.) And finally, Mr. Uytdewilligen and Mr. Dieter provide an interesting discussion of myths about the standard.
